Fleeing Coronavirus patient nabbed in Taraba

After fleeing from isolation center, a Coronavirus patient in Taraba state has been nabbed and returned to the facility.

The announcement was made by the Taraba state’s Commissioner for Health and Chairman of the State’s COVID-19 technical committee, Dr Innocent Vakkai on Monday May 4.

The Commissioner debunked claims of schools and worship centres reopening, as he also disclosed that contact tracing has commenced to curtail the spread of the virus in the state.

He said;

”Our schools and worship centres remain closed while members of the public are urged to observe all precautionary measures outlined for safety during the two day window allowed for movement in the state.”

Vakkai averred that the state which currently 8 confirmed cases of Coronavirus would not accommodate Almajiris who have not been tested by officials of the state they are sent from.

In other words, the Chairman of the Medical Guild, Dr Oluwajimi Sodipo, revealed at a media briefing on Monday in Lagos, that 16 doctors have tested positive to COVID-19 in Lagos state.

According to Dr Oluwajimi, Lagos being the center of COVID-19 in Nigeria, had seen members of the guild playing a critical role in the response plan.
