Nigeria records 242 new COVID-19 cases, total now 4,641

Imo confirms first COVID-19 case

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Monday, confirmed 242 new COVID-19 cases bringing the total confirmed cases to 4,641.

The centre made this known via its verified Twitter handle on Monday night.

88 new cases were recorded in Lagos, 64 in Kano State, 49 in Katsina, 13 in Kaduna State, nine in Ogun State and six in Gombe State

The tweet further revealed that four cases were recorded in Adamawa State, three in the Federal Capital Territory, with one case each in Ondo, Oyo, Rivers, Zamfara Borno and Bauchi States.

As at now, 4641 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Nigeria with 902 patients discharged and 150 deaths recorded.

Meanwhile, Nigeria has ordered for Madagascar’s COVID-19 vaccine.

The Federal government said it will be subjected to scientific analysis before it is put into any form of use.
