Nollywood Veteran, Yul Edochie, has cried out following what he labelled a drop in the ‘quality of movies’ emerging from the popular movie industry.

The Nigerian film industry is regarded as one of the biggest in the world, alongside Hollywood and Bollywood.

However, the actor opined that the industry isn’t living up to the name it created.

“The quality of our home videos has dropped so much,” he wrote. “Lots of crappy actors/actresses, crappy directors.

“We can’t continue like this. To all seasoned Nollywood practitioners, pls let’s revive it.

“People love our content all over the world. We just need to step up the quality,” he added.

In other news, the Federal Government recently set up a committee of industry stakeholders to advise it on the best way to mitigate the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic on the creative industry.

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made this known earlier this month during a meeting with the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria, BON.
