COVID-19: Wife joins husband in Anambra centre

The wife of the second Anambra coronavirus case, has joined her husband in one of the Isolation centres after testing positive.

Also, it was confirmed that one of the three persons who tested positive is not from Anambra. He has been traced to Amuwo in Lagos.

The Anambra State government confirmed this on Wednesday as Governor Willie Obiano, inaugurated two sets of committees in wards and local government areas with a charge to fish out visitors with immediate effect.

While its also said it has established mobile courts to prosecute violators of COVID-19 guidelines.

The state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr Don Adinuba, said those to be prosecuted include people not wearing facemasks, those violating the social distancing protocol and interstate travel ban among others.

He said, “To protect Anambra from the untoward behaviour of these people which has colossal consequences, the state government has decided to set up mobile courts in various parts of the state to try offenders.
