Anambra discharges index case of Coronavirus

Days after Abia State Government declared a Coronavirus patient wanted after he fled from a holding centre in Aba, the patient has reportedly turned himself in for treatment.

This announcement was made by the Abia state’s Commissioner for information, Chief John Okiyi-Kalu.

Okiyi-Kalu said the patient identified as Emmanuel Ononiwu is now at the isolation center in Amachara, Umuahia South Local Government Area of the state.

The patient, Ononiwu reported at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) in Aba with his family including his wife at 8.05am on Saturday May 30.

According to report, their samples have been taken for testing. Active contract tracing has also commenced.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Abia State government on Saturday evening announced that the suspected COVID-19 patient; one Vincent Prosper it had earlier declared wanted is now in their custody.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Information in the state, Chief John Okiyi-Kalu in a Press Release.
