Drama in Osun state as the Director-General of Amotekun in the state, Amitolu Shittu on Monday allegedly led his men to assault the General Manager of O-Ambulance, Dr Olusegun Babatunde in an attempt to forcefully take over an office allocated to the O-Ambulance staff.

According to a news site in the state, DOCPETINFO, Amitolu Shittu whose appointment is still a subject of controversy has been terrorising people most especially those with dissenting voice to his appointment in the state.

The main opposition party in the state, People’s Democratic Party has earlier condemned the appointment of Amitolu Shittu on the basis of being a member of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress in the state.

PDP Osun chapter also threatened legal action over what the opposition party termed as illegal appointment of Mr Amitolu Shittu as Director General of the security outfit.

The party said such appointment was unknown to law.

According to report, Amitolu has refused to swallow his desperation to take over the O-Ambulance office located inside the Government House Annex, Osogbo when the government has already allocated and furnished part of Olajokun park at Gbongan, in Ayedaade local government area of the State as operational office for the security outfit.

The location of the operational office was also deemed appropriate in many quarters considering it’s proximity to crime flash points in the state.

Investigation revealed yesterday night that, Amitolu Shittu led his men to government house annex to forcefully eject occupants of O-Ambulance office with a view to taking over the office but met stiff resistance by the latter.

The O-Ambulance General Manager who was around in his office at the time was then attacked by Amitolu’s Amotekun body guards, beating him to comma in the process, his cloth torn into pieces and was left in the pool of his blood.

Attempt to speak with the general manager proved abortive, as he said not to be disposed to speaking to the media, that the state government is already handling the matter.
