COVID-19: FG gives reasons for not conducting mass test on Nigerians

The Federal Government has discharged the 292 Saudi Arabia returnees after 15 days in isolation in an hotel in Abuja.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that there was jubilation across social media as two hundred and ninety-two Nigerians evacuated from Saudi Arabia due to the Coronavirus pandemic have arrived the country.

According to the Federal Government, they all tested negative for the the COVID-19.

The Saudi returnees were discharged on Wednesday morning and most of them are already on their way to Lagos.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the rate of value-added tax has been increased by three-fold from 5% to 15% in Saudi Arabia.

The government of Saudi Arabia has announced that it would suspend the cost of living allowance from June 1.

Saudi Arabia’s minister of finance and acting minister of economy and planning, Mohammed Aljadaan said on Monday that the measures were necessary to “overcome the unprecedented financial and economic ramifications of the global coronavirus pandemic in the best way possible”.
