Tragedy as a member of the Gombe state task force on COVID-19 identified as Shuaibu Danlami has reportedly died from Coronavirus complications.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the deceased, Danlami who was the director for Special Services and Politics at the office of the Secretary to the State Government died on Sunday, May 31 after a brief illness.

It was also learnt that samples taken from him for testing returned positive for Coronavirus from the NCDC lab in Abuja late Tuesday, June 2.

This sad development was made known to journalists by the Chairman of the state task force on COVID-19, Idris Mohammed on Wednesday, June 3.

Mohammed said both the SSG’s office complex and the Government House clinic will be closed for decontamination.

He said contact tracing has also begun.

Danlami is the seventh Covid-19 death case recorded in the state.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that at least, 31 people who tested positive for Coronavirus in Gombe State are on the run, the state’s Taskforce on COVID-19 said on Wednesday.

According to the task force, the 31 people have refused to show up once they knew they were positive.
