Nasarawa Gov Sule appoints IGP younger brother as new SSG

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has approved the appointment of immediate younger brother of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, Barr Mohammed Aliyu, as new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

The new appointment is contained in a statement by the Governor’s spokesman, Yakubu Lamai.

The statement said the appointment takes immediate effect.

Aliyu obtained his first degree in 1986 from University of Maiduguri and a Bachelor of Law degree in 1997 from the University of Jos apart from attending numerous courses and seminars.

The new SSG started his working career with the Bank of the north as a clerical officer before moving to Plateau State Ministry of Education.

He later served as executive chairman of Lafia local government between 1999-2002.

Sule sacked the former SSG Aliyu Tijjani Ahmed over his involvement in the misappropriation of the state government fund meant for renovation of schools projects during his reign as the Commissioner of education in the Tanko Almakura administration.

He was investigated and indicted by the House of Assembly, which demanded his sack.
