Curvy Nollywood actress, Moyo Lawal, has shared her opinion on what qualifies as skin lightening and her position on it.
The Lagos-born star schooled her Instagram followers on the matter after a post she shared about skin lightening was misinterpreted by some of them.
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that the screen diva is frequently accused of lightening her skin, she has however denied it and instead, credits tomatoes, for skin tone.
Recently, Moyo shared a picture of a hand wit snow-white skin and implied that is the only true definition of a bleached skin which offended some of her followers.
She wrote,
“This is what bleaching actually looks lik ooh….. ……… … … Otherwise if you are not the same kind of (since a few pips want to start fights nobody sent them 🙄) black you were, when you were younger……. ….. Then, you too have bleached … ……… …. P. S yes!!… ……. …. you bleached your melanin to a brighter shade of melanin”

When a fan with username @nancymrshustle implied that Moyo was suggesting that black skin is dirty, the actress replied, “You are overthinking it jare, half my family is black.”
In March of 2016, Moyo took to Instagram to clearly stte that she does not bleach her skin, she wote;
“I am not bleaching please, I am totally brown-skinned, I just really glow a lot. Hence when light, filter or the sun touches me, I shimmer. Chop a tomato today, your skin will glow…”
