Sanwo-Olu unveils 5,000 transistor radios for access to learning

The Lagos State Government has announced August 3 for the reopening of schools basically for students in “transitional classes”.

This was made known by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu in a televised press briefing on Friday.

Speaking on the development, the Governor clarified that though schools would be reopened for the transitional classes on August 3, students in Senior Secondary School three and Technical School three would resume first.

He added that pupils in primary schools and Junior Secondary School three students would resume to school a week or two weeks after the SSS3 students’ resumption.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the Lagos State Government, through the State Examinations Board has announced the postponement of year 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) until further notice.

The examination was scheduled to begin June 16 and end June 23, 2020.

The development was disclosed in a statement by the Director of the Board, Mr. Supo Gbadegesin, noting that the postponement was due to the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic.
