COVID-19 cases in Nigeria hits more than 30,000 with 460 new cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced that no fewer than thirty thousand Nigerians have been infected with the Coronavirus.

This was contained in a tweet released by the NCDC on Wednesday night, July 8.

Nigeria has recorded 460 new cases bringing the total number of confirmed cases so far to 30249 with 12373 persons discharged.

NCDC released the breakdown of figures of new cases of COVID-19 recorded according to states as follows:

According to the tweet, 684 persons have so far lost their lives in Nigeria due to Coronavirus.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, Director-General (DG), Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has said that young people, aged between 20 and 40, are driving the transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the country.

Ihekweazu said this at the Presidential Task Force (PTF), media briefing on Thursday in Abuja.
