A police officer has allegedly shot a yet-to-be identified motorcycle rider to death around Banana junction in Orlu, Imo state on Thursday, July 9.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the motorcycle rider was stopped by the Police officer because he did not wear a face mask.

It was also learnt that the refusal of the motorcycle rider to give a N50 bribe to the police officer led to altercation between the duo.

Residents of the area reportedly trooped out enmasse to demand for justice over the death of the Okada rider who was allegedly shot dead by a police officer.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state did not react on the incident but promised to get back to newsmen.
