Police arrest man 32, for allegedly raping woman 60, in Niger state

A 32-year-old man identified as Sani Garba has been arrested by officials of the Niger state police command for raping a 60-year-old woman.

This was contained in a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Wasiu Abiodun.

The PPRO said police officers attached to the B division in Suleja on July 18 arrested Garba for criminally trespassing into the room of the 60-year-old woman and then raped her.

Wasiu said Garba has confessed to entering the woman’s house and raping her.

He said the suspect would be charged to court as soon as possible.

Likewise, a 23-year-old man identified as John Adamu of Ungwan Nassarawa area Kontangora was also arrested by men of the state police command on July 16 for raping one 7-year-old girl of the same address.

The police spokesperson said the suspect confessed to have penetrated the girl through the back at his security post premises.

He said the suspect will also be arraigned in court soon.
