Late night, on Thursday, a 20-year-old girl was arrested by Nandyal police of Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh for pouring acid on her boyfriend who reportedly cheated on her and married another woman
She was nabbed at her residence at Peddakottala Village in Nandyal Mandal of Kurnool district.
According to Nandyal Police, A 20-year-old girl has poured acid on her boyfriend at her residence in Peddakottala village in Kurnool district on Thursday.
The victim has received burn injuries on his face and he was rushed to Nandyal government general hospital for treatment, his condition is stable and is undergoing treatment. A case under section 326-A (The Punishment for Acid Attacks) of Indian Penal Code has been registered and took up the investigation.
The girl who poured acid speaking to media said, it’s been three years we are in love and earlier I asked him that will his parents accept our relationship or not? He said he will marry me even if his parents don’t accept our relationship. Now he married another woman and is again approaching me to stay with him. He also spoke with my parents, relatives and assured them that he will marry me. He cheated me, I left my college for him for three years, I lost my respect in my village, so I poured acid on him.
Nagendra, the victim who suffered acid attack said that she poured acid on me while I was riding my bike in Peddakottala village. Earlier we broke up due to caste issues, she belongs to SC caste and I belong to BC caste. She also accepted my request for the breakup and said she will marry another person. I got married ten days ago and yesterday she poured acid on me.
