COVID-19: Yobe orders reopening of schools

Yobe State Government has approved 12th October, 2020 as the date for the reopening of schools in the state.

Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Muhammad Sani Idriss confirmed this on Wednesday in Damaturu. He also said strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols will be observed by both public and private schools across the state.

The Commissioner said, ”Gov. Mai Mala Buni has given directives to his Ministry to ensure reopening of basic and secondary schools in Yobe State with effect from 12th of October, 2020″.

This was after the Commissioner briefed the governor on the modalities and strategies put in place by the ministry to avert any possible spread of coronavirus.

In the other news, Yobe government has appointed new Chief Judge, Justice Gumna Kashim Kaigama. Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has charged the new Chief Judge of the State to look into ways of enhancing quick dispensation of justice with all sense of fairness.

He said the new Chief Judge should keep alive the justice system because the judiciary is the last hope of the common man.
