Tragedy as truck crushes Okada rider, passenger in Ogun

Tragedy as a truck on Sunday reportedly crushed a commerical motorcyclist and his passenger to death in Ogun state.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the commerical motorcyclist was riding against traffic when the tragic incident occurred.

According to DAILYPOST report, the accident occurred around 10am at Car Park C, Mowe axis of the Lagos-Ibadan highway, Ogun State.

The road crash involved the motorcycle, with registration number, PKA 147 VF and an unregistered Mack truck.

The spokesperson of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed the incident.

Babatunde said “the motorcyclist rode against traffic (route violation) from Redeemed to Mowe before it ran into the Mark truck which was on its legitimate lane heading towards Interchange.”

The truck has been taken to Redeemed Police Station by TRACE and FRSC officials, while the 2 dead victims have been taken to Fakoya Mortuary, Sagamu,” he said.

Commiserating with the family of the deceased, the traffic agency appealed to “motorists and motorcyclists to avoid driving in a direction prohibited by traffic (One-Way).”
