ONDO POLLS: INEC staff feared drowned, electoral materials lost on river bank

As the governorship election in Ondo State progresses, a speed boat carrying electoral materials and staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to Ilaje communities has capsized.

The incident led to the damage of ballot papers and other election materials meant for some polling units in Ilaje Local Government.

Local divers tried to rescue them, and fortunately the INEC ad-hoc staff made use of lifejackets.

In a video shared online, all the occupants of the boat were seen struggling to save their lives in the troubled waters as some swam their way to the bank of the river.
