Police have killed 10 #EndSARS protesters, says Amnesty International

Amnesty International has revealed that the Nigeria Police have killed at least 10 people since protesters stormed the streets last Thursday to protest against police brutality and extra-judicial killings.

This was revealed by the human rights watchdog via its official Twitter handle.

Amnesty International tweeted:

“So far, Nigerian Police have killed at least 10 people since the start of protests against callous operations of SARS,”.

 

 

WITHIN NIGERIA had reported the killing of a young man in Delta state and the brutalisation of another person in Lagos.

Recall that a protester identified as Jimoh Isiaq was shot dead by the police in Ogbomosho, Oyo state, on Saturday.

These tragic incidents aggrieved Nigerians intensified protests in major cities across the country

President Muhammadu Buhari had assured citizens that those found culpable of misconduct among the disbanded special anti-robbery squad would be prosecuted.

But the protesters refused to back down, saying they would only stop protesting if their five-point demand is met by government.
