40 suspects charged to court for looting in Taraba

40 suspects have been charged to court by the Taraba state police command for looting of government and private warehouses in Jalingo, the state capital.

This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP David Misal.

The PPRO said the suspects were charged to court for various offences including looting, vandalism, breach of peace and public disturbance.

According to the PPRO, more arrest were being made and some of the looted items recovered.

Misal further added that they are on the trail of key suspects who were behind the looting in Jalingo.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Taraba State Government has imposed an indefinite curfew in the state following the looting of COVID-19 palliatives by residents.

Musleem Aruwa, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu made the announcement in a statement.
