Yobe indigene, Umar Dagona wins $400,000 after finishing second at world chemistry competition

A Yobe State indigene has made Nigeria proud at the World Chemistry competition, where he defeated candidates from many countries to secure the second position.

Umar Usman Dagon, from Gashua town of Yobe state, took part in the “Imaginechemistry” competition and made it to the top five that appeared in the final round.

He eventually made it to the second position, winning the sum of 400,000 dollars.

Dagona studied NCE chemistry education at Yobe state Umar Suleiman Collage of Education in Gashua town.

In other news, British born, Lewis Hamilton achieved an enviable feat of winning his seventh Formula 1 title on Sunday, November 15 to establish his name in the history books of the sport.

The British superstar became the most successful racing driver ever with a masterful victory in the Turkish Grand Prix, equalling Michael Schumacher’s achievement in terms of titles, after already surpassing the German’s number of race wins last month.

Lewis’ victory at the teacherously wet and slippery Istanbul Park track in a topsy-turvy race was the 94th of his career. The emotional driver who remains the sport’s only black driver, went on to describe what a hard journey it had been to become the most successful driver in the history of Formula One.
