One killed as Troops neutralizes armed bandits, recovers weapons in Katsina State

Troops of Operation Accord operation in the South-west zone has neutralized several bandits in Yar Tasha village, Katsina State in a clearance operation.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Maj Gen John Enenche during the week.

According to the statement, the troops while on Night patrol at Yar Tasha village made contact with armed bandits and engaged them in firefight.

According to him during the encounter, 3 armed bandits were neutralised while others escaped with various degree of gunshot wounds.

He also said weapons like 3 AK 47 rifles other arms and ammunition as well as ten suspected livestock rustlers were recovered and arrested during the operation.

Enenche said in another operation troops conducted fighting patrol to Natsinta and Dawanna villages in Jibia Local Government Area along Katsina-Jibia road and arrested other suspected criminals.

He said the operation was executed following credible intelligence adding that suspects are currently in custody for further investigation.
