PHOTOS: Youths, women and disabled win local government polls in Kogi

Youths of Kogi state have reportedly came out enmasse to exercise their democratic rights by electing their choices at the recently concluded Local Government Elections in Kogi state.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that all the vice-chairmanship seats out of the 21 local government areas in the state are occupied by women.

Recall that the Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello vowed to only support candidates with female vices before the election commenced.

In a similar development, all of the council speakers (leader of councillors) are women and all of the LGA secretarties are youths.
It was also learnt that people living with disablities are not left behind as a young man identified as Hon. Muhammed Ogirima living with dwarfism also emerged as councilor with the support of Governor Bello.
This unprecedented development beckons to the agitation of the “SORO SOKE generation”.
The youths are no longer nonchalant about politics and leadership. They have clearly shown their ability to speak up through the ballots, its either we support them or move out of their way.
