PHOTOS: Police arrest four suspected cultists in Anambra

Operatives of Anambra state police command have arrested four suspected cultists.

The suspects identified as 22-year-old Nwabuwanne Maduka, 21-year-old Anayo Ikechukwu, 37-year-old Gozie Okoye and 26-year-old Chukwuweike Ndupu were arrested during the raiding of various hideouts and blackspots following intelligence report.

This was contained in a statement released by the police public relations officer in the state, SP Haruna Mohammed.

According to the statement, three suspects were arrested at Amawa village, Ogbunike in Oyi LGA of Anambra state while Chukwuweike Ndupu, a native of Atani, Ogbauru LGA but residing at Oye Olisa, Ogbunike in Oyi LGA was also arrested.

The suspects voluntarily confessed to be members of the Black Axe and Vikings Secret Cult Confratenity and one pump action was recovered from them.

The statement further revealed that Ndupu has been on the police wanted list in cult related cases and he has voluntarily confessed to be a member of Vikings Confratenity. Exhibits such as one locally made single barrel pistol and one live cartridge.

However, the Commissioner of Police, John B.Abang,fdc thanked “Ndi Anambra” for providing the Command with actionable intelligence and reassure the public of adequate protection.

He urged all Ndi Anambra and residents alike to report any suspicious persons or objects to the nearest Police Station or call police emergency number 07039194332 for prompt response, please.
