NDLEA arrests 148 suspected drug peddlers and traffickers in Kaduna

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kaduna state command has arrested 148 suspected drug peddlers and traffickers in various parts of the state.

The suspected drug peddlers and traffickers were paraded by the acting state NDLEA Commander, Mr. Uche Iyke on Monday December 21.

The actin state commander, Iyke said they recovered illicit substances like tramadol, codeine, diazepam from the drug traffickers which were billed for Zaria, Kaduna and the environs.

Iyke further disclosed that the agency secured twelve convictions during the year and added that the suspects will be charged to court in order to serve as a deterrent to other addicts and traffickers.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that a dismissed staff of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Niger State Command has been arrested by the agency for being in possession of 254kg of dried weed suspected to be cannabis sativa.

This was disclosed by the acting commander of the agency in the state, Aloye Oludare while addressing newsmen in Minna on Monday.
