Rivers police boss directs psychological evaluation of its personnel over incessant use of firearms

The Rivers state commissioner of police, CP Joseph Mukan has directed the psychological evaluation of its personnel over incessant use of firearms.

The police chief also stated that the Police Officer who allegedly assaulted a bus driver at Choba/Ada George, Port Harcourt on Monday, December 21, 2020, has been arrested.

This revelation was made by the police commissioner when the State Chairman and Choba branch, Chairman of Drivers Welfare Association ISAAC LEKIA and CHILE BESTMAN, the assaulted driver, SAVIOUR NWIDAM and other members of the union visited the CP.

According to the police commissioner, the officer would be dealt with in line with Police internal disciplinary measures while adding that the command under his watch does not condole indiscipline.

Speaking on the development, the chairman of Drivers Welfare Association LEKIA ISAAC in his speech called for synergy between the Police command and the Association to ensure proper monitoring of both drivers and Police officers on the road with a view to ensuring sanity.
