Napoli and Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, has tested positive for COVID-19.
Osimhen returned a positive test on Friday, having been away for the yuletide break.
Napoli disclosed this in a tweet via its Twitter account on Friday evening.
“The club can confirm that Victor Osimhen has tested positive for COVID-19 following his return to Italy.
“Osimhen is currently asymptomatic and has not come into contact with the rest of the squad.,” Napoli tweeted.
Osimhen has not featured for Napoli since he sustained a shoulder injury against Sierra Leone last November while on international duty for the Super Eagles.
Since joining Napoli from Ligue 1 club Lille, the 22-year-old has scored two goals in six Serie A appearances.
His last outing for the Italian side was in November where he scored the only goal in a 1-0 win at Bologna.
