LUTH: This second wave of COVID-19 is easily transmitted and deadlier

LUTH reacts to report that man who tested positive to coronavirus was denied treatment

The second wave of COVID-19 is easily transmittable and deadlier than the first one, the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) warns.

This was contained in an advisory issued by its Chief Medical Director, Professor Chris Bode.

The CMD warned Nigerians to take very seriously all the COVID-19 protocols.

According to Professor Bode, the hospital has seen an upsurge of people treating malaria instead of going for COVID19 test.

He said most of the people that have died from the disease went to the hospital late for diagnosis and treatment.

In other news, WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that LUTH volunteers shut operations over their unpaid emoluments have been refuted by the authority of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Idi-Araba.

This refutal was made by Prof Wasiu Adeyemo, the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) in an interview with newsmen in Lagos on Tuesday.
