ABU security staff arrested for allegedly working with kidnappers to abduct lecturers

Police in Kaduna have arrested one of the security staff of Ahmadu Bello University, Aliyu Abubakar alongside some suspected kidnappers for allegedly terrorising the institution.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that Abubakar was arrested by the Special Tactical Squad of Inspector-General of Police for allegedly ‘providing’ assistance to kidnappers who have on various occasions terrorised the institution.

Frank Mba, the police public relations officer also disclosed that another person identified as Malam Jafaru who provides spiritual guidance to the kidnappers was also arrested.

In other news, WITHIN NIGERIA reported unknown gunmen have reportedly abducted two lecturers of tertiary institutions in Kaduna state.

The lecturers identified as Dr Adamu Chinoko of the Department of Agriculture at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and Dr Umar Chinoko of the Department of Microbiology at Kaduna Polytechnic were kidnapped in Kebbi state
