Gunmen abduct retired Immigration officer, three others in Abuja

Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a retired Assistant Comptroller-General of Immigration, Abdulahi Rakieu, and three other persons in the Tungan Maje area of Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja on Saturday, February 6.

This is coming barely 3 days after WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Okechukwu Nnodim, a journalist with Punch, has been abducted by gunmen at his residence in Arab road area of Kubwa, Abuja. Mr Nnodim’s neighbours were not spared in the raid on Wednesday night.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the abductors raided the victims’ houses and whisked them away.

As at the time of filing this report, the police command has not commented on the abduction.

In a related news, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that suspected Fulani herdsmen on Sunday, January 24, reportedly kidnapped some passengers along the Lagos-Benin-Ore highway.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the suspected kidnappers emerged from the bush to attack vehicles on the Ondo State portion of the road.

In a video shared by a journalist, Olayinka Olukoya, a vandalised white passenger bus and a car was seen abandoned on the highway.
