It was indeed a sad weekend for Nicki Minaj and family as they recently lost their father.
According to Nassau County Police in New York, the rapper’s father was hit by a vehicle while he was walking on the road in Mineola on Long Island, on Friday evening, February 12.
Police stated that the driver then fled the scene without a meaningful description from witnesses. Following the accident, Robert was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries and passed on Saturday, February 13.
Police are asking any witnesses to the fatal crash to come forward.
Nicki Minaj, 38, was born Onika Tanya Maraj in Trinidad and was raised in the New York City borough of Queens. She has not made any public statement about her father’s death.
