Niger govt shuts boarding schools after Kagara College abduction

Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello has ordered the closure of all boarding schools in Rafi, Mariga, Munya, and Shiroro local government areas of the state until further notice.

The Governor gave the directive while addressing newsmen in Minna over the abduction of some students and staff of Government Science College, Kagara in Rafi local government.

The Governor stated that the action is necessary to save the life of the students as the areas have already been taking over by bandits.

He also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to deploy all necessary mechanisms to help in containing the situation as it is now out of hand.

Governor Sani-Bello had on several occasions complained about the influx of bandits from different parts of the country into Niger State.
