As evidenced by Senator Ademola Adeleke’s refusal to attend the Service of Songs held in honor of the late Soji Adagunodo, former PDP chairman and vice chairman of the PDP south west, the crisis that rocked the Peoples Democratic Party, Osun Chapter during the gubernatorial primaries appears not to have abated.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that some party chieftains and members are currently at WOCDIF, an event centre situated in Osogbo to honor the Service of Songs to mourn the passing of ex-Osun PDP chairman, Soji Adagunodo.

At the time of Service of Songs, Senator Ademola Adeleke was sighted by this reporter with another round of party chieftains and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Osun Chapter and prominent Osun citizens at the swearing-in ceremony for new Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries at the State Secretariat, Abere.

It is regrettable that both parties were unable to come to an amicable agreement before the passing of Hon. Soji Adagunodo, according to Felix Aderanti, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who attended the service of songs for the late Soji Adagunodo.

I made the decision to go to the Service of Songs in order to pay my final respects to the departed, a notable and renowned politician. The freshly sworn-in commissioners and Permanent Secretaries might be greeted at a later time. He continued, “I really wish the state government had attended the funeral.”

Another party member and native of Obokun, identified as Busayo, blasted Senator Ademola Adeleke for ignoring the service of songs hosted by the former PDP chair.

Busayo stated that it is rather inconceivable that a former Chairman of a ruling party and someone who passed away as vice chairman of the party, South West, could be handled in such a way.

Senator Ademola Adeleke’s action, according to Busayo, disparages the efforts and achievements of the late Soji Adagunodo in the party.

Nobody would live indefinitely. Those who are making fun of Soji Adagunodo right now should be aware that they will also pass away one day. I pray that God would forgive him of all his sins and wish him eternal peace. An obviously upset Busayo stated, “He will be sorely missed.”

In another development, Senator Ademola Adeleke has sworn-in commissioner-nominees, permanent secretaries for the state which took place at the State Secretariat, Abeere-Osogbo.

The former senator, Adeleke appointed self as Works Commissioner, his deputy, Prince Adewusi as Commissioner for Sports while his in-law, wife of late Isiaka Adeleke as Commissioner for Federal Affairs.
