In recent months, many towns and villages in Kwara State and other parts of the middle belt and northern states have come under a spate of attacks by terrorists and bandits
In Kwara State, an unknown number of villagers and soldiers have been attacked by terrorists in a fresh attack.
The attack happened at about 3 am in Kemanji village in Kaiama Local Government Area of the state.
It is gathered that security agents, comprising the Nigerian Army and local vigilantes, engaged the bandits in a ferocious shootout that lasted until 5 am.
According to reports, a few soldiers were gunned down during the attack, though the full extent of the damage caused by the attack could not be ascertained as of the time of this report.
Recall that armed bandits recently invaded Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area, killed scores, burnt houses and abducted over 100 residents who are still in captivity.
