FCMB Group Plc has appointed the chairman of the board of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), Mrs Adepeju Adebanjo, as an independent non-executive director.
This was contained in a statement signed by the company secretary, Mrs Olufunmilayo Adelabu.
According to the statement, the appointment has been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

She holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master of Engineering from Imperial College London and the University of London
She earned a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School
She is an alumna of INSEAD
She has also completed executive programs at Cambridge University, MIT Sloan, and the Prince of Wales’s Business & Sustainability Programme
With over 30 years of cross-sector leadership experience in finance, manufacturing, agriculture, renewable energy, and consulting across Africa and Europe, she began her career in the UK as a case leader at Boston Consulting Group and a financial analyst at Citibank London
She subsequently headed strategic planning, brand management, product development, and public affairs/communications at United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc
She later served as Managing Director and CEO of Mouka Limited, and also as Managing Director and CEO of UTC Nigeria Plc
She went on to serve as CEO of the Cement Division, Lafarge Africa Plc, as MD of WAPCO Nigeria Plc, and as MD of Geocycle
She also led Lumos Nigeria as CEO, driving solar-powered solutions for Nigerian households and SMEs
In addition, she founded Pinky Blue Limited and established herself as the exclusive franchisee of Mothercare UK in Nigeria
She then served as Commissioner for Agriculture, Ogun State until May 2019, championing agricultural productivity and investment
During this period, she supported the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning on the 2017–2020 National Economic Recovery and Growth Plan
She has served as Director of Ibstock PLC (UK) since November 2021
In 2025, she founded the Climate Governance Initiative Nigeria, affiliated with the World Economic Forum, and is currently serving as a member of the WEF Council on Climate and Nature Governance for 2025–2027
She has also served on the boards of Lagos Business School, Ladgroup Limited, Mayflower School Ikenne, and Ashaka Cement, among others
Her contributions have been recognized with the CNBC Africa Business Woman of the Year Award in 2015, the Harvard Business School Nigeria Leadership Award in 2013, and inclusion in Cranfield University’s “100 Women to Watch” UK list in 2021
