Five-Storey Building Collapses On Occupants in Lagos – Video

A five-storey building has collapsed at Alakija, inward Navy Town, triggering a major emergency response and causing severe traffic gridlock stretching back to Oluti.

The incident occurred at about 11:40 am on Thursday, and the exact number of persons trapped could not be immediately ascertained.

A multi-agency rescue operation is currently underway. Personnel from the Nigerian Police, Nigerian Navy, Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), and PHCN are on-site managing the situation. An excavator has been deployed to the scene to help extricate individuals believed to be trapped inside the debris.

Traffic officials are on the ground managing the heavy backlog. Motorists are strongly advised to remain patient, follow all traffic directives, and seek alternative routes where possible. Further updates will be provided as the recovery operation continues.
