The Niger government has reaffirmed its commitment to rid the country of bandits and other criminal elements.
Mr. Emmanuel Umar, the state Commissioner of Local Government and Internal Security, revealed this to reporters shortly after a meeting with the state assembly Committee on Local Government.
“The government is working to increase support for law enforcement agencies and traditional security organizations in order to mitigate ongoing banditry activities.”
“I can assure you that efforts are being made to remove these bandits and criminal elements from the state as well as to reduce their activities.”
