Aisha Buhari, governors’ wives unveil projects’ compendium

The First Lady, Aisha Buhari, alongside the governors’ wives on Wednesday, in Abuja officially unveiled a compendium chronicled their achievements through their pets projects across the country.

The compendium also captured the activities and projects of the wives of the vice president.

The first lady at the book presentation said that her commitment to providing the needed support for women and children was unshakable.

Buhari, who was represented by the Vice-President’ wife, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, expressed delight in the successes so far recorded in the areas of girl-child education, maternal and child health, as well as women`s empowerment.

“Our pet projects have grown up into a monumental success that can be sustained even after we leave office.

“I, therefore, commended the wife of the vice president, wives of governors and development partners for their support towards actualising this project.’’
According to the first lady, the purpose of the documentation was to ensure that the developmental strides of the first lady and governor’s wives are adequately captured and documented.

“This demonstrates our collective response to democracy and our commitment to leadership, the achievements of the Nigerian first lady since 2015 has been tremendous.

“The projects cannot be adequately covered in one volume but can only be summarised to befits our strides, My Aisha Buhari Foundation (ABF) has done so much on health, education and women empowerment.’’

She, therefore, expressed hope that the historic publication will serve as reference material worthy of recognition at all times.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the compendium was titled “the achievements of the first lady and wives of the state governors across Nigeria.’’
