The recent Tuface Idibia family saga which made headlines since the turn of September, no thanks to his Wife Annie’s issue with his baby mama Pero, has led to a close look at the rise of the baby mama/baby dad relationship among Nigerian celebs.
It has become a common trend for some time for male celebrities to father kids through baby mamas. It is noticed that these celebrities prefer to be baby daddies rather than settle down in marriage, though some are married. Many of them have children with two, three, or more women.
The word ”baby mama” and ”baby daddy” is used to describe a situation where two couples decide to have children out of wedlock.
The noteworthy thing about the celebs on this list is, they are not only financially supporting their children. They have also been present fathers, co-parenting, and proud of these kids. While some baby mamas are unknown probably due to agreements they had with their male partners, many of the baby mamas are well-known ladies.
Below is a list of these male celebs with baby mamas, comprising of both old and young men.
Ubi Franklin
Triple MG boss, talent manager and politician, Ubi Franklin, is the first name on this list. The successful businessman has four children from four different women; including his first child Jayden, who he had with Nollywood actress and ex-wife Lilian Esoro.
His first daughter is Zanette whose mother is a US-based model and entrepreneur originally from Kogi State in Nigeria. He also has a son, Shiloh, with a South African baby mama, Nicole Siyo. His fourth baby mama is Sandra Iheuwa and they have a daughter, Ariella, together.
Earlier in the year, Ubi took to his Instagram page to appreciate three of his baby mamas for not giving him trouble. He excluded Siyo the South African baby mama, who would later drag him on Instagram for not playing a father role in the life of their son.
Timaya
DM Record boss and dancehall singer, Inetimi Timaya Odon aka Timaya has three girls and a son from three baby mamas. His children are Emma, Gracey, Emmanuel, and Maya. His first two children are from his date of many years, Barbara Nwokolo, while Emmanuel’s mum is an interior décor named Tamar. Maya’s mother is a popular American-based visual artist who goes by the name Dunnie Onasanya.
Timaya in his interviews has also said marriage is not for him, that he’d not get married, says he’d rather just have kids. He had once dated actress Empress Njamah.
Oritsefemi
Oritsefemi Majemite Ekele widely referred to as Oritsefemi is also included in this list. Oritsefemi’s claim to fame was the release of his remake of Fela Kuti’s ‘Double Wahala’ song in 2013. The “musical-Taliban”, as he fondly calls himself, has two daughters – Patience and Esther Majemite Ekele from two different women. However, the Ajegunle-bred singer is married to Nabila Fash who is not one of his baby mamas.
King Sunny Ade
Legendary Nigerian juju singer, multiple award winner, and songwriter, King Sunny Ade, is no stranger to the World of having baby mamas. He is also termed ‘a father of many nations ’ because of the large number of children born for him by his baby mamas.
After several speculations, Homto Dokpesi, the daughter of AIT founder and DAAR communicatons, chief Alegho Raymond Dokpesi, shed light on her relationship with juju music maestro, King Sunny Ade in the last quarter of the year 2020.
Homto, in an interview with The Nations, when asked by her interviewer Paul Ukpabio, if she has heard people insinuating that King Sunny Ade could be the father of her son? She said,
“Everyone is always looking for answers to their questions. Even though the father of my child is not in our lives, a decision he made which I choose to respect, my son knows who his father is, and the father knows he has a son. What more can I say? I would rather keep my private business private.”

Afropop star, Chinedu Okoli a.k.a. Flavour N’abania is the biggest music export from the eastern part of Nigerian. The multi-talented musician, in a series of videos on his Instagram stories, spoke on why he can’t be with one woman. He said, “It kind of makes sense. 9ICE
Abolore Akande aka 9ice is also a strong contender on our list. Previously married to Toni Payne, the union, which produced a son, Zion, fell apart like a stack of badly packed cards in 2010, with the ex-wife alleged fling with Ruggedman.
The ‘gan-gan aso’ crooner who attributed the loss of his voice to the absence of “good equipment” in the country has since gone on to bring forth four kids from three baby mamas.
