Nigerian pop star and man of the people, Davido, has proven himself as a force in the music industry yet again. The video for his latest music dubbed ‘Champion Sound’, which was released on Friday night, November 19, has now gotten over one million YouTube streams and over 1.5 million Instagram streams, few hours to his birthday.
Davido is not new to amassing millions of views and streams. However, the hours at which he attained the figures on the video for his latest Amapiano song is quite commendable. Davido earned over 2.5 million streams in less than 48 hours.
In past days, before the release of the Focalistic-featured song, Davido has been a trending topic on all social media and online news platforms for his one Million Naira donation challenge ahead his 29th birthday today, November 21, 2021.
The philanthropist got over 200 million Naira in donation in less than 48 hours, that he announced the challenge. His industry colleagues, his fans at home and abroad also partook in the challenge. Some of them sent him as little as 100 Naira to show their love and support for the singer.
In a rather shocking, yet noble move, Davido announced on Saturday, November 20, that all the money he got from the challenge, including 50 million Naira of his personal money, all totalling 250 million Naira would be donated to all the orphanages in Nigeria.
Davido, since he released his impressive debut single ‘Back When’ in 2011, has remained unstoppable in Nigerian and now that he has attained a global standard with his music, he continues to blow the minds of his fans while his productive works are also expanding his fan base worldwide.
