Organisers of Nigerian Idol have confirmed the season seven of the music reality competition will be streamed in 27 countries of the world.

Viewers across Africa and other continents of the world, including New Zealand, United Kingdom, France, Australia, and Italy, will be able to stream Nigerian Idol on video-on-demand platform, ShowMax.

Busola Tejumola, the executive head of Content and West Africa Channels for MultiChoice Nigeria confirmed the report, saying; “Fans of Nigerian Idol in the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Australia and 23 other countries will be able to stream the talent show on ShowMax. This is in addition to the series being available across Africa on the streaming service.”

ShowMax will also air highlights and audition processes of the new season, as well as last year’s season.

For the seventh season of Nigerian Idol, respected singers D’Banj and Simi have been unveiled as judges, while IK Osakioduwa, who hosted the show in season six, returned as the host of the new season.

The winner of the seventh season, which kicks off on Sunday, February 6, 2022, will dance home with N100m worth of prizes, the highest reward for any singing competition in Nigeria.

Kingdom Kroseide was declared winner of the sixth season of Nigerian Idol, taking home the grand prize of N30 million in cash and N20 million in other prizes.
