“we returned back home and started all over” man shares his abroad experience

Man who left for greener pastures abroad shares his experience and why he had to come back

After spending years abroad, exploring different cultures, and working tirelessly for years with his wife, man shares his experience and the reason behind their leaving the abroad life and coming back home .

The Nigerian man identified as @ShamseddinGiwa took to Twitter to share his experience and to advice individuals intending to travel abroad on the true realities of living in abroad

According to the man, abroad life isn’t easy as they paint it, she narrated how demeaning and demanding their jobs were, that even with their incomes it was hard to live averagely over there.

Fueled by their desire for new experiences and opportunities, they kept on until they couldn’t anymore.

Finally they decided to come back to their country and have since accomplished too many things they couldn’t achieve in their many years of living in a foreign country.

He wrote:

The relocation story you don’t get told

This was us several years back as a young couple looking for better life abroad. The dream was good , the intentions were good and we had enough to start, we just didn’t have enough information of how challenging it would get.

We started life in a single within a shared flat, where we even get told when we could use the washing machine and the heater (even in winter)

The jobs were demeaning and tiring but the poor exchange rate of my home currency gave a false sense of deception that one was earning good but the reality was different. Even with both our incomes, it was difficult to live averagely. Note, we were way better than many others here.

Atleast we were together but extreme work Rota meant we got to spend more time apart.marriage strained, now imagine many had their spouses back but their marriage went through worse.

Always at the mercy of the home office that was always changing immigration policies, one never really felt settled .

In the end we returned back home and quietly started over, together…”
