How I narrowly escaped being a victim of the helicopter crash – Late Access Bank CEO Wigwe’s aide speaks

The aide revealed he opted to travel by road rather than air due to weather conditions.

Herbert Wigwe’s aide, Faleye Olushola, narrowly escaped tragedy on the night of February 9, surviving a helicopter crash that claimed the lives of his boss, Wigwe, along with Wigwe’s wife, son, and others.

The crash occurred as they were en route to Las Vegas, near the border of Nevada and California.

Olushola, listed on the manifest, chose not to board the flight, opting instead for a road trip due to unfavourable weather conditions for night helicopter travel.

According to reports from ThisDay, Olushola had flown with Wigwe, his family, and Abimbola Ogunbanjo from London to Palm Springs, California.

Upon arrival, Olushola refused to join the helicopter journey to Boulder City, Nevada, citing concerns about flying at night given the weather conditions.

Choosing to travel by road instead, he narrowly escaped the disaster that tragically claimed the lives of many.
