Ganduje to Politicians: Stop making comments that undermine security

We are winning war against COVID-19, Gov Ganduje says

The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje has cautioned politicians to refrain from making comments that could scuttle the federal government’s efforts at securing the country.

This caution was made known by the Kano state while expressing support for the government’s no-fly zone order in Zamfara state, describing it as a well-thought-out strategy.

In a statement released on Saturday by the Kano state commissioner for information, Muhammed Garba, the governor, Ganduje said politicians should at least wait and see how the strategy works before making comments that are capable of undermining the efforts of our security services to keep the country safe.

The governor also said the no-fly order would aid in tackling suspected logistics supply and evacuation of the nation’s natural resources particularly gold.

“The issues of security should be beyond partisan considerations. I do not see anything political in declaring the no-fly zone in Zamfara State,” he said.

“It is purely based on security and intelligence reports that there are suspicious criminal activities going on there.”

Ganduje said the country requires joint efforts by stakeholders to tackle kidnappings, insurgency and banditry.

He also advocated for a synergy between states and the federal government to prevent the fragile security situation from spiralling out of control.
