Nigeria records 195 new COVID-19 cases, total hits 158237

As the battle against COVID-19 continues, Nigeria has recorded 195 new cases of deadly virus in 16 states and the federal capital territory, Abuja.

This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update on Saturday, March 6.

According to the centre, Lagos recorded 70 new cases.

Other states with fresh cases include Kaduna-22, Abia-20, Edo-18, Kano-10, Akwa Ibom-9, Rivers-7, FCT-7, Borno-6, Bauchi-5, Osun-5, Oyo-5, Plateau-3, Ekiti-3, Niger-2, Ogun-2 and Zamfara-1.

Nigeria now has 158,237 confirmed cases.  137,645 patients have been successfully treated and discharged, while 1,964 deaths have been recorded.

In a related news, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that as the battle against COVID-19 continues, Nigeria has recorded 371 new cases of the deadly virus in 19 states and the federal capital territory, Abuja.

This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update on Friday, March 5, 2021.

According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Lagos recorded 101 new cases, the highest for the day.
