Nigeria records 269 new COVID-19 cases, total now 158506

As the battle against COVID-19 continues, Nigeria has recorded 269 new cases of the deadly virus in 19 states and the federal capital territory, Abuja.

This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update on Sunday, March 7, 2021.

According to the centre, Enugu recorded 78 new cases, the highest for the day.

Other states with new cases include Bauchi-37,  Rivers-22,  Imo-18, Ogun-16, FCT-15, Akwa Ibom-13,  Kaduna-13, Kebbi-11,  Kwara-9,  Edo-7,  Ekiti-6,  Borno-5,  Yobe-5,  Kano-4,  Nasarawa-3,  Osun-3,  Anambra-2 and Plateau-2.

The agency also disclosed that they were 80 community recoveries in Kwara State.

Nigeria now has a total of 158,506 confirmed cases 137, 875 patients have been discharged so far with 1,969 deaths recorded.

In a related news, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that as the battle against COVID-19 continues, Nigeria has recorded 195 new cases of deadly virus in 16 states and the federal capital territory, Abuja.

This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update on Saturday, March 6.

According to the centre, Lagos recorded 70 new cases.

Other states with fresh cases include Kaduna-22, Abia-20, Edo-18, Kano-10, Akwa Ibom-9, Rivers-7, FCT-7, Borno-6, Bauchi-5, Osun-5, Oyo-5, Plateau-3, Ekiti-3, Niger-2, Ogun-2 and Zamfara-1.
