Gunmen invade Niger community, kidnap 19 persons

Unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped atleast nineteen (19) persons in Kutunku village in Wushishi local government area of Niger state today March 8.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the abductees include eleven males and eight females including two would-be brides who are to get married this weekend.

According to residents, the gunmen stormed the village in motorcycles shooting sporadically.

The assailants were said to have ransacked houses and carted away a lot of money and foodstuff.

As at the time of filing this report, the state police command is yet to comment on the incident.

In other news, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that some Expatriates kidnapped in Gabon and Nigerian negotiators held captive have regained their freedom.

They were freed on Saturday in Tombia, a creek in Bille waterways, Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The victims included six Chinese, three Indonesians, one Gabonese and four Nigerians that had gone to facilitate their release.
