No more amnesty for criminals in Benue – Gov Ortom

Ortom

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, said the State Security Council, had declared total war on assailants and other criminal elements, adding that his administration will no longer entertain amnesty for criminals in the state.

Ortom stated this on Saturday during the Burial of Dr. Terkura Suswam and his aide, Solomon Tarnor in Anyiin, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.

The Suswam and his aide were shot dead recently by yet to be identified gunmen.

Governor Ortom stressed that no matter how long it would take, the criminal elements would be defeated.

He described late Dr. Suswam as a great man, adding out that he died struggling to bring peace, prosperity and economic development to his community.

“You can see in Anyiin alone, we have Ashi Polytechnic, Ashi International Market, Micro Finance Bank, Rice Mill and these are the things that we are woeing investors to come and do because government does not have the resources to do it alone,” Governor Ortom stated.

“Government does not have the capacity to do these alone and Dr. Terkura Suswam saw it but unfortunately, he had to meet his death right here in Anyiin struggling to work and add value to the economic development of the community.”
