Police declare 18 people wanted over Ebonyi communal clash

Following the communal clashes between Effium and Ezza communities in Ebonyi state, police have declared 18 people wanted.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the communal clash was triggered by a leadership tussle over a popular motor park in the area.

According to the police, people declared wanted come from  Effium and they are wanted on charges that include murder, arson, unlawful possession of firearm and ammunitions, attempt to commit felony including cultism.

Speaking on the development, the police public relations officer in the state, DSP Loveth Odah said in a statement;

“The wanted persons are all indigenes of Effium\Ezza-Effium Community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi state.

“Handsome reward awaits any person with useful information that can lead to arrest of the suspects.”

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Ebonyi State police command has rescued three kids kidnapped by a woman and her husband from their village in Ikwo and Izzi Local Government Area of the state.

The kidnappers were arrested at Nkaliki Road, Abakaliki metropolis when a tricycle operator they boarded suspected and raised the alarm that attracted residents of the area to gather and rescue the children.

The victims identified as Sopuruchukwu Ugbo, (8 years), Tochukwu Eze (5 years), and Wisdom Eze (4 years).
