Man allegedly beats son to death for stealing two gallons of palm oil in Kano

40-year-old Awaisu Auwalu of Samegu Quarters Kano has been arrested for allegedly beating his son to death for allegedly stealing two gallons of palm oil.

According to the Police, Awaisu used a stick to beat his son, who was 19 years old to death over the missing two gallons of palm oil from his store.

The State Police Command PRO, DSP Haruna Kiyawa, said upon receiving the report, the victim was rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano where he died on Monday at about 0600hrs while receiving treatment.

Kiyawa said the suspect confessed to have used a stick to beat his son which resulted to his death. The father alleged that the deceased made a series of thefts from his provision store.

However, the Kano State Commissioner of police, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, has ordered that the case be transferred to the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section for discreet investigation.

He added that “Suspect (the father) will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.”
